The widow in today’s passage is important but ultimately this passage shows how Jesus is fulfilling the role of prophet and is speaking into the story as prophet, but also revealing himself as the author of the whole story; that Jesus is God, that he’s the son of the father, revealing a new element to our stories, this element of resurrection and a new hope for us to walk in and live in each and every day.
