Our Mission:

We exist to glorify God, making disciples of Jesus Christ in the Southward of Orillia and overflowing to the ends of the earth.

Every church may have the same Mission, but the reason all churches are different is because they have different Core Values.  Our Core Values are what make us unique.  They are the deep, central, unchanging values implanted in us by God that shape who we are and drive us into ministry.

Our Core Values:

  1. Christ-Exalting Worship

We deeply believe that we were made to bring glory to God by lifting high the name of His Son. We gather regularly to observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, to sit under the teaching of God’s Word, and to respond with songs, offerings, and confession; encouraging one another as we glorify Jesus together.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:24-25

  1. Spirit-Empowered Ministry

We deeply believe that the Holy Spirit has been given to the church to equip and empower us for life and ministry. We cannot accomplish anything of spiritual value apart from Him. We desire to increasingly become a people of prayer who are fully reliant upon the Holy Spirit.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

  1. Word-Driven Transformation

We deeply believe that anointed, biblical teaching is the catalyst for transformation in individuals’ lives and in the church. We expect the Holy Spirit to grow us in holiness as we delight in God’s Word together.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  1. Great Commission Urgency

We deeply believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to our church. Each of us has been commissioned by Jesus to be his witnesses to the world, and it is our joy and privilege to invite others to trust and delight in him.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20

  1. Gospel-Saturated Community

We deeply believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life. We intentionally work to develop authentic community wherein we minister the restorative power of the gospel to one another as we grow together into the likeness of Jesus.

“and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you” - 1 Thessalonians 3:12

  1. Kingdom-Focused Development

We deeply believe that the local church is the ideal context for and primary agent in the development of followers of Jesus Christ. In all that we do, we strive to encourage and develop men and women to faithfully steward the gifts that God has entrusted to them.

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” – Ephesians 4:11-12

  1. Mission-Minded Generosity

We deeply believe that we are blessed to be a blessing and that we are to be generous in the sending of prayer, people and resources recognizing in humility that it will take more than this church to accomplish God’s purposes in the world.

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6-9

These Core Values are the deep, abiding passions and convictions that govern the activities and priorities we feel driven to pursue within the parameters of the Great Commission mandate. God made us what we are with specific works and activities in mind that we should walk in them. That has a lot to do with why our church looks a little different than other Gospel believing, Great Commission following churches in this city.  It isn’t a matter therefore of “which church is better”; if you are a newcomer to Orillia and searching for a place to connect, the issue is more along the lines of “where do my passions, gifts and commitments most obviously align?” Core Value alignment is very important when considering a new church home for you and your family.
