We encourage you to make a plan to read through the Bible with us in 2024!
Bible reading plans can build a consistent rhythm of spending time in God's Word. They also provide the opportunity to read sections of Scripture we might otherwise avoid, allowing us to see the full picture of God's story of redemption through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The reading plan we like to recommend at Redeemer is the Robert Murray M'Cheyne (RMM) 1-year or 2-year reading plans. Through using the 1-year plan, you'll read 4 chapters per day from 4 different books of the Bible. The 2-year plan has you reading 2 chapters per day from different books of the Bible. One of the reasons we like the RMM plan is that by reading from 4 different books, you don't get bogged down and discouraged when reading through only one book at a time from some of the lesser read books (hello, Leviticus!). As well, by reading from 4 different books per day, you start to notice patterns, rhythms and connections between the books that weave together the wonderful story of the Good News that points us to Jesus.
You can download either the 1-year or 2-year reading schedules through the links below. Or, if you use the YouVersion Bible App (available on the App Store or Google Play), click on the Plans tab and search for 'M'Cheyne One Year Reading Plan'. You can set daily reminders on the App to read the RMM chapters each day, or use their audio options to listen to the chapters being narrated instead.
If you'd like a paper copy, you can pick yours up on Sundays in the gym by the offering box. We pray that this plan will bear fruit in your life in 2024. It may not feel like it at times, but we can trust that God's Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). It has the power to change us whether we spend five minutes in the Word or we spend five hours. Reading the Word of God will always reap a reward in our lives!
