Harry is a retired OPP Officer, and his wife Margaret, is a secondary school teacher in the Simcoe-County District School Board. They came to Orillia in 2008 when Harry was transferred to the OPP’s General Headquarters. They have been married for 40 years and have three married sons; Philip, Marcus and Robert, three daughter-in-law’s; Elizabeth, Lori and Emily and nine grandchildren with a tenth grandchild expected in May.
Harry and Marg have been attending Cornerstone Baptist Church since they arrived in Orillia, and Harry has been an elder in the church since 2013. For the past 5 years, they have been worshipping and serving at Redeemer City Church.
Both Harry and Marg grew up in the Niagara area, attending the same church, and enjoying a large and vibrant youth group together, and although they didn’t attend the same high school they were high school sweethearts. Harry was saved at a young age, and was blessed to be raised in a God-fearing, church faithful family. Harry’s career has taken the family to various communities in Ontario, but they are happy to be settled in Orillia.
Harry enjoys hiking, biking and travelling to see the kids, and is looking forward to being able to travel to see family once COVID is under control and travel restrictions are lifted. Romans 8:28 tells us; “and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose”. Harry clings to that promise in scripture, because he knows that God is sovereign over all.
